Birthday Party Planning | Girls Birthday Dreses at Sophia's Style Boutique

Jen

Plan the perfect Bubbles and Balloon birthday party. It's very easy and inexpensive to do.

Step 1-is to visit SophiasStyle.com children's clothing store to pick out the perfect birthday dress!

Step 2 - Invitation: Inflate a balloon, but don't knot it. Write party details on the surface with a soft-tipped permanent marker, then carefully deflate. Your little guest's parent must blow up the balloon to read the invitation.

Step 3 - Set the Scene: Give balloons a little flair by attaching simple crepe-paper circles and stripes with double-stick tape. It's easy to make dots and fun shapes using paper punches.

Step 4 - Crafts & Activities: Premix bubble soap by combining 2/3 cup dish washing soap, 1 gallon water, and 2 or 3 tablespoons of glycerin. Let the kids loose to blow bubbles in the backyard and have a contest for the biggest, the fastest flyer, and the longest-lived.

Step 5 - Cake (isn't this the most important part??) Create a tower of glazed doughnut holes. Pipe colored icing in between carefully stacked layers as the tower's "glue." Add dots of icing to the top and finish with a dash of sprinkles.

Step 6 - Party favor - the kids will not want to leave the party without their very own balloon. Attach a jar of bubbles to the string and add a round name tag.

maker spot subscription giveaway

Giveaway #2
This is a giveaway that all you Etsy sellers are going to loooove. Maker Spot is a company that allows you to create a blog that integrates your Etsy store, so your items for sale are always front and center.

Creator Tim Grahl says, “We started Maker Spot because our wives and a lot of their friends have Etsy stores and wanted to market them with a website, but didn’t know how to build one, and couldn’t afford to pay for one. What we wanted to do was create a service that would provide Etsy sellers their own easy to manage website that they could use to market their Etsy store. We also offer the ability to use your own domain name along with the URL we provide (yoursite.makerspot.com).”

The cool part is that it's super-duper easy to set up and maintain. With just your Etsy username you can select a template and you're off! Check out a couple of their current users here and here. Learn more about the company and their features--we think you'll be impressed with all the ways they can increase your business on Etsy.

Today's giveaway from Maker Spot is a 1-year subscription to their service. That's a $150 value!

To enter, please leave us a comment telling us what you sell on Etsy. Entries must be received by Sunday, April 26 at 11:59pm PST.

Another reason we love Maker Spot is their commitment to a great organization to Kiva.org. Jessica told me about this site a while ago and it is so amazing. Kiva is the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs around the globe. You can lend as little as $25 and help someone in a developing country find economic independence and a better life for their family. And when your loan is repaid, you can turn around and lend it to someone else. Such an incredible idea.
